About me

A spreadsheet only its author understood. A client had built a quoting tool in a spreadsheet. It was carefully put together, with formulas for all sorts of situations, but only its author understood it. For everyone else at the company it was useless. My team and I worked through it together. They sold real estate, and each unit had different payment terms. The down payment affected the discount, buyers could pay installments early, and the remaining balance determined the payment period. One wrong number could end in a lawsuit. We turned it into software that matched every result and that their sales team could actually use.

I know how to decide what to build and how to implement it. Whether the code comes from my keyboard or from the AI I'm directing, I review all of it, test it, and hold it to a high standard of quality.

These are the things I pay most attention to:

• Start with what matters. I focus the scope on the work that makes the biggest difference to the product. It helps the team spend its time well.
• Architecture and data model. I understand the business and the problem before choosing how to structure the software. The architecture should fit the product we need to build.
• Product judgment. I suggest features and discuss the ones proposed to me. Designing from scratch isn't my strength, but building products has taught me to give useful feedback on a design.
• Code the team can read. In a team you spend more time reading code than writing it. So I care about clear names, small functions with one job each, and reusing what's already there.
• Error handling. I narrow the failure down to the exact point where it breaks. I investigate with help from AI and online sources, then work through the cause until it is resolved.
• Keep learning. I make time to read documentation, try tools and build projects of my own. What I'm working on lately is on my GitHub.

I take responsibility from the problem through to working software.

I'm open to a full-time role or a defined project, as a software developer or as a tech lead.

I want us to discuss everything openly, then get behind the decision we make. That includes me.

Here's what I look for in a role or a project:

• Impact you can see. I want what I build to matter to the people using it: real problems, solved, and a visible difference in someone's day.
• Room to contribute. I like startups because I can have a clear role and still help where I am needed. I pitch features, get into design questions, and weigh in on sales or marketing when that helps.
• Freedom with responsibility. I'm happy to work to a schedule with room for life outside work. Judge me on what I deliver, not on hours logged at a screen.
• Trust from day one. Trust that I'll do good work, and room to do it. I take my commitments seriously. If a deadline is at risk, I say so early.
• Leadership with a purpose. The team hits its goals and, along the way, each person hits their own. I like helping people grow, even to the point of surpassing me.

I'm based in Lima, Peru (GMT-5), and I work in Spanish and English. I enjoy being at home. A good day includes some quiet reading, time with family and going out for food I've been craving. I read a lot of manga, plus fiction and nonfiction: One Piece is my all-time favorite, and my favorite books are in the Cosmere series. A good TV series can easily draw me in too.

I also love the rush of releasing something and seeing how people respond. The best part comes right after: someone tries what we built and the thing that was blocking them is gone.

Starting businesses shaped me early. Founding companies taught me a bit of everything: sales, marketing, design and creating content. I like learning new things and trying out technologies, and I usually get there by poking at something until it breaks, just to see why it worked.

Learning takes effort, and being wrong stings. I still prefer to try, make mistakes and learn from them. It is how I move beyond what I already know.
